Shopify plan prices and payment fees
Shopify costs come in three layers: the plan subscription, the Shopify Payments card rate on each order, and — only if you use a third-party payment gateway instead of Shopify Payments — an additional transaction fee. Prices below are from Shopify's official pricing page, last verified in October 2026.

The Grow and Advanced monthly-billing prices are not shown: we could not verify them on an official Shopify page, and third-party sites disagree — check Shopify's pricing page for current monthly billing. When you use Shopify Payments there is no additional Shopify transaction fee; the third-party gateway fee applies only when you take payment through another gateway. On the Basic plan, international cards add 1% to the Shopify Payments rate, per Shopify's pricing page.

Plan subscription is a fixed monthly cost; our Shopify calculator shows profit per order after card fees and does not allocate the subscription across orders.

How much is Shopify per month in 2026?
On annual billing: Basic $29/mo, Grow $79/mo and Advanced $299/mo. Basic is also published at $39/mo on monthly billing. We do not list monthly-billing prices for Grow and Advanced because we could not verify them on an official Shopify page.
What card fees does Shopify charge?
With Shopify Payments, the standard online card rate is 2.9% + 30¢ on Basic, 2.7% + 30¢ on Grow and 2.5% + 30¢ on Advanced. Premium cards cost more on Basic (3.5% + 30¢), in-person rates are lower, and international cards add 1% on the Basic plan.
Does Shopify charge a transaction fee on top of card fees?
Only if you do not use Shopify Payments. If you take payment through a third-party gateway, Shopify adds 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow or 0.6% on Advanced, on top of that gateway's own fees.
Which Shopify plan is cheapest for a new store?
Basic, at $29/mo billed yearly — but it also has the highest card rate (2.9% + 30¢). As order volume grows, the lower card rates on Grow or Advanced can outweigh the higher subscription; run your own order numbers in the calculator to see the crossover.
