How it works
Amazon takes two fees out of every FBA sale before you see a cent:
Category options are populated from our central fee file using Amazon's official referral schedule (for example Consumer Electronics 8%, Home and Kitchen 15%, Clothing tiered by price up to 17%), including the $0.30 per-item minimum referral fee that applies to most categories. Fulfillment is handled differently on purpose: Amazon's full size-tier table (weight band × price band) could not be verified from its public pages, so the fulfillment dropdown offers only the official page's own product examples, labelled example rates — it is not a tier table. Monthly storage is a figure you enter yourself, because no verified public storage rate exists. Always confirm your ASIN in Seller Central's Revenue Calculator before ordering inventory.
Frequently asked questions
What is Amazon's referral fee?
A percentage of the selling price that varies by category — for example 8% for Consumer Electronics and Computers, 15% for Home and Kitchen and for media (Books, DVD, Music), and tiered rates for Clothing (5% at $15 or less, 10% from $15–$20, 17% above $20). Most categories also carry a $0.30 per-item minimum referral fee: you pay whichever is higher. Figures verified Oct 2026 against Amazon's official referral schedule.
How is the FBA fulfillment fee (example rate) determined?
By the item's size tier and shipping weight: packaged dimensions and weight place it in a tier (small standard, large standard, bulky, extra-large), and each tier has its own fee table that Amazon updates, usually yearly.
Are storage fees included in this calculator?
There is deliberately no built-in storage rate. The official storage table could not be verified from public pages and third-party figures conflict with each other, so rather than quote a number we cannot stand behind, V1 asks you to enter your own per-unit storage estimate — take it from the storage fees on your Seller Central reports. Aged-inventory surcharges, returns processing and removal fees are likewise excluded.
Why does Seller Central show a different profit?
Seller Central's Revenue Calculator uses your ASIN's exact dimensions, weight and category, plus current surcharges. This tool uses representative tier fees so you can model a product before it exists — treat its output as a screening estimate, then verify the finalists in Seller Central.

How we calculate & limitations
Assumptions & limitations: Referral rates verified against Amazon's official referral schedule (30+ categories; the dropdown carries the most common ones), including per-item minimums; tiered categories such as Clothing are calculated at their top-tier rate in V1. Fulfillment fees are official product EXAMPLE rates only — the full weight-band × price-band tier table and the monthly storage table could not be verified from public official pages, so storage is user-entered and returns processing, removal, aged-inventory and any fuel/logistics surcharge are excluded. Verify every finalist product in Seller Central / Revenue Calculator.
